The Earth Homes Homies

Aaron Sauerhoff
Founder & Lead Designer
Aaron relocated to the Northwest from the Northeast ten years ago (as of 2025) after stumbling into an NYC climate march, which led him to spend a day gazing at the downtown infrastructure with fresh eyes and began realizing how we are shaped by our buildings. This spiritual experience forced him to reconcile with the quality of the structures and systems he observed and spurred him to pivot his life's direction from a focus in aviation toward the improvement of our collective building practices.
From forming the natural building program at Evergreen State College, working on crews in the South Sound and positioning himself on Olympia's Planning Commission, to eventually developing a design firm and network to form modular, collaborative cohorts ad libitum for specific projects: he's centered building science in his sphere of influence and care indefinitely.
His gaze now sets on scaling healthy building technologies while working to create access to them across income strata. He and his growing crew of collaborators combine their efforts to bring forth systems such as biogenic pre-fab, carbon-sequestering material streams, and places that will continue to thrive long after we've become memories.

Rabi Sauerhoff
Designer & Exec. Admin
Rabi's first memory of committing acts of interior design happened at the age of 8, when she felt the chi in her family's home was off and managed to move a queen-sized mattress down the long hallway of their home to create a more auspicious arrangement. She then toiled away for the next 20 years as an annoying advocate for spatial harmony until finally realizing that it could be a viable profession. Since then, she's contributed nuanced and subtle but powerful attention to detail to many homes-to-be and saved a lot of awkward vibes from penetrating sacred spaces. She is the principle of Rabi Sabi Interior Transformations and brings a combination of deep wisdom and irreverescence to any room that will receive it.

Aaron & Rabi
Partners for the Future
Aaron and Rabi met while boycotting a staff meeting that carried with a reckless, sick colleague in attendance at the outset of Covid - which set the tone for their joint commitment to protect vulnerable peoples and places from careless status quo. They've evolved a business, updated the Olympia Mitigation Site together, designed, built and remodeled numerous homes, and raise a family with truth, sobriety and discipline at the core of their values.
The work they do is for their children, as well as for the generations to come to have a fighting chance at thriving.
